1958
  • Japan Brake Lining Co., Ltd. was established in Otowa, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. Capitalized at 25 million yen.
  • Began with sales of roll linings and resin mold linings.
  • Built the Hachioji factory in Hachioji City, Tokyo.
1959
  • Began to supply brake lining to Mazda Motor Corp.
  • Began to supply brake lining to Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
1961
  • Started supplying brake shoe assemblies to Suzuki Motor Corp.
  • Began to supply brake shoe assemblies to Mazda Motor Corp.
1962
  • Succeeded in developing disc pads for railroad vehicles.
1963
  • Began to supply shoe assemblies to Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
  • Increased capital to 50 million yen.
1964
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Wu Tai Industrial Co., Ltd., Taiwan region.
1965
  • Built the Chiba factory in Naruto-machi, Sammu-gun, Chiba (present Sammu-shi).
1967
  • Started manufacturing disc pads for automobiles. The disc pad for automobiles was adopted in the first Japanese rotary engine (RE) car "Mazda Cosmo".
  • Began to supply brake assemblies to Mazda Motor Corp.
1971
  • Merged with Tokyo Brake Lining Co., and changed the company name to Japan Brake Industrial Co., Ltd. Increased capital to 100 million yen.
  • Achieved the development of the world's first disc pad for stainless rotor of motorcycles. The disc pad for motorcycles was adopted by Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
1974
  • Started manufacturing aluminum die cast shoes for motorcycles.
1979
  • Began to supply shoe assemblies for minicars to Suzuki Motor Corp.
1981
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Allied Motors Private Ltd., India.
  • A semi-metallic disc pad was adopted for the GM Corvette.
1983
  • Concluded a technical collaboration agreement for development and production with Ferodo Ltd., U.K.
  • Established Hiroshima Japan Brake Industrial Co., Ltd. (HJB) in Kure City, Hiroshima.
1986
  • Increased capital to 220 million yen.
1988
  • Opened the U.S. Office in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Nuturn Corporation, U.S.A.
1989
  • Established a joint company, Allied Nippon Limited in India with Allied Motors Private Ltd. (New Delhi, India)
1990
  • Concluded a joint venture agreement with Nuturn Corporation, U.S.A. and Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation) Established Ferodo Automotive Products in Tennessee.
  • Established Namie Japan Brake Co., Ltd., (NJB) in Namie-machi, Fukushima.
1992
  • Began to manufacture products in Ferodo Automotive Production Inc. (U.S.A.).
1996
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with PBR Automotive Pty., Ltd.(Australia).
  • Capital participation in Friction Products Ltd. (Thailand).
1997
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Korea Beral Co., Ltd. (South Korea).
  • Concluded technical assistance agreement with P.T. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfg.
  • Head office relocated to the Hachioji factory, Tokyo.
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Friction Products Ltd. (Thailand).
1999
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Federal Mogul Corp., U.S.A.
2000
  • Began to produce brake assemblies for Ford Motor in HJB.
  • Increased capital to 460 million yen.
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Kalyani Brakes Limited (present Foundation Brake Manufacturing Limited, India).
2002
  • Established a joint company, Japan Brake (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Thailand with Nissin Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Ayutthaya, Thailand).
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Sangsin Brake Co., Ltd. (South Korea).
2004
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Putian Municipal Rongxing Machinery Co., Ltd. (China).
  • Established Foshan J.B. Automotive Products Co., Ltd. in China.
  • Relocated the production department in Hachioji to NJB.
2005
  • Concluded a technical assistance agreement with Fuzhou Assured Brake Systems Co., Ltd. (China).
2006
  • Merged with HJB by absorption.
2009
  • Integrated the disc pads production of Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation) into Namie Japan Brake Co., Ltd.
2010
  • Opened Shinjuku Office.
2011
  • Established the Shimodate Works of Namie Japan Breake Co., Ltd. in Chikusei-shi Ibaraki.
  • Established a joint company, Allied JB Friction Pvt. Ltd. in India with Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation) and Allied Nippon Ltd. (New Delhi, India) .
2012
  • Acquied 100% ownership by Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation)
  • Established a second plant of Japan Brake (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
2013
  • Integrated the Business Development Division into Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation)
  • Integrated the Hiroshima Works into Chiba Works.
2015
  • Integrated the Development Department into Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd. (present:Resonac Corporation)
  • Japan Brake (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was absorbed into Hitachi Chemical Asia(Thailand)Co., Ltd.(present:Resonac Materials(Thailand)Co., Ltd.) together with the other three companies of Hitachi Chemical Group (present:Resonac Group) located in Thailand.
2018
  • Merged with Namie Japan Brake Co., Ltd. by absorption.
  • Head office relocated to Ibaraki.
2020
  • Integrated the Chiba Works into Shimodate Works.
2021
  • Shimodate Works reorganized into Production Management Department.
  • Closed the Chiba Works.
